Kathleen
has over 25 years experience working with children with
various disabilities. She attended the University of Wisconsin
Madison and received her undergraduate degree in Physical
Therapy. She received her Master of Science degree from
Cardinal Stritch University in the area of Business Managment.
Throughout her career, she has worked as a pediatric physical
therapist in various treatment settings. She has provided
services in the public schools, at the Waukesha County birth
to three program, and at her private practice. Along with
providing direct care to children, Kathleen is certified
as an Assistive Technology Professional through RESNA. For
11 years, she was a co-owner in a rehabilitative equipment
company that specialized in custom seating.
Kathleen's
interest and experience in horseback riding motivated her
to expand her practice. Currently, Kathleen is in private
practice and is providing clinical services (using horses
as a treatment tool) to children with physical and sensory
disabilities at two area riding facilities. She has developed
a riding program for students challenged with disabilities
at South Milwaukee Schools where she is concurrently working
as a physical therapist. Kathleen is a registered member
NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association)
and the American Hippotherapy Association. She has taken
numerous courses in hippotherapy and has completed a graduate
certificate in Hippotherapy through Western Michigan University.
Other areas of experience include NeuroDevelopmental Therapy
and Myofacial therapy.
