 The
Listening Program
The
Listening Program is based upon in depth science and research
on the effects of noise pollution and neurological stress. It
is an 8-week, home program of listening to strategically engineered
compact discs that have filtered sound frequencies embedded in
the music. The purpose is to produce a calm and modulated state
(restful and focused) and to increase orientation to sounds that
are often missed by people with auditory processing challenges.
We
have used this program for over 5 years. Our own clinical trials
with many other auditory integration methods have shown The Listening
Program to have met more of the goals of improving sensory integration
in the long run. It is most frequently a part of an inclusive
treatment program, though it can also be a singular focus of treatment.
